Spiced Orange Cranberry Sauce

IMG_20191126_173555_708I love tart flavors. When I was a kid, I was the one asking for everyone’s lemons at the table so I could eat them. Yep, I was a weirdo, probably still am. If you’re weird like me, you will probably love this cranberry sauce recipe with a twist. When a Thanksgiving plate is weighed down by savory turkey, stuffing, and potatoes, it’s begging for some sweet and tart cranberries to lighten things up. This is also delicious spread on paninis with all that leftover turkey.

Here’s What You’ll Need:

  • 12oz. fresh cranberries
  • Juice of 1 navel orange
  • 2 tsp. orange zest
  • ¼ cup-½ cup maple syrup (depending on how sweet you like it)
  • ¼ tsp. ground cloves
  • ¼ tsp. ground cinnamon
  1. Combine fresh cranberries, orange zest and orange juice, maple syrup, cloves and cinnamon in a medium saucepan.
  2. Bring the mixture to a boil then simmer on low for 15 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  3. Chill in the refrigerator.
